About Me
Hi, my name is Barb Baxter. I was born in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. I was raised
on the Mississippi River in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, where I graduated from high
school in 1967. I was married to my husband, Gary Baxter, in 1970. We have
been married for 34 years. We live on a small farm in Wyoming Valley. My
husband and I had three children, two boys and a girl. I went to U.W. Platteville as
a non-traditional student and graduated in Elementary Education with an emphasis in
history in 1985. I was a substitute teacher for three years and then was hired as a
full time teacher in the fall of 1988 for River Valley School District. My first
full time job was 4th grade at the Wyoming Valley School, the year that they closed that
school. I was then moved into our brand new elementary school in Spring Green again
to teach 4th grade. The following year I was switched to fifth grade where I taught
for two years. In the fall of 1992, I was moved to the Middle School to teach sixth
grade history, where I have been ever since.
My husband and I enjoy gardening, snowmobiling, motorcycling, and our grandchildren.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at the Middle School at 588-2556,
anytime between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
