Guest Speakers

     In several units that the students will be studying this year, they will have a guest speaker come into the classroom.  This guest speaker will be me, dressed as a character from that era.   I have located several outfits that try to make me look authentic to that particular time period. This has become a very popular listening skill.  The character comes in and tells his or her story.  As the life of this character unfolds, students must answer a list of questions by listening to the character speak.   These questions follow in order as the character tells his/her tale.  When the students have answered all the questions, I go over the questions so that all students have the right answers.  The students and I then discuss some of the information they have just gained usually leading to a lively discussion.  I hope your child will share with you what they have learned on these special days as they seem to enjoy it tremendously.
