Mrs. Manske's Homework Policy

A.  Students are expected to come to school each day with their work completed so they are ready to proceed
to the next lesson.   When students have not completed their work the following will happen:

    1.  The student will stay in for as many recesses on that day to attempt to complete the late work.

    2.  Late work will result in a point deduction from the grade earned.

LATE WORK:   Work that is at school and not completed, or work that was left  home.

B.  For students who are absent on any given day, they will be given two days to make up their assignments.

** For example:  Marc is absent on a Monday, therefore his work for Monday is due on Wednesday of that week.  If Marc is absent on Tuesday and Wednesday of the same week, and returns to school on Thursday, Tuesday's work is due on Thursday and Wednesday's work is due on Friday.

***There are exceptions made at times for this

I highly encourage parents to "pick-up" their child's assignments if they are absent, or let the office know if the assignments are to be sent home with a sibling.   Homework will be available for pick-up by 3:00 PM.  However, I do understand that some illnesses do not allow students to complete any or all of their work.   Exceptions are also made for this.  After the two day period, the assignment becomes late, unless arranged otherwise.

Homework should always be brought to school even if it is not completed, or even if the student has been absent.  Please do not let your child leave the unfinished work at home.  I usually have the student use recesses to complete their work and I am available to help them.

If you know that your child will be missing school ahead of time for an appointment, vacation. etc., PLEASE send a note to notify me so I can give them their work ahead of time.  If a student is absent because of a reason other than illness, the same procedure is followed as in "B" above.
