President Anderson opened the meeting. He noted that the meeting had been properly noticed and provided to the appropriate media and each School Board Member. Pitts moved to proceed with the legal meeting. Smith seconded. Motion carried.

Board Training Opportunities
Nelson noted that the WASB Leadership Academy is next week in Madison.

Consent Agenda: Open Session Meeting Minutes: June 4, 2002; June 13, 2002; Checks, Invoices, Receipts from June 2002
Smith moved to accept the consent agenda items as submitted. Pitts seconded. Motion carried.

Consideration & Action on Spring Green Elementary Principal Hiring
Limmex moved to hire Eric Briehl as the Spring Green Elementary Principal. Pronold seconded. Motion carried.

Consideration & Action on Resolutions Accepting Teacher Resignations
Limmex moved to adopt the Resolution Accepting Teacher Resignation of Phyliss Swanson. Pitts seconded. Polled vote was 7-0 in the affirmative with 2 absent. Motion carried.

Smith moved to adopt the Resolution Accepting Teacher Resignation of Julie Shown. Limmex seconded. Polled vote was 7-0 in the affirmative with 2 absent. Motion carried.

Consideration & Action on Approval of Sabbatical Leave
Limmex moved to approve a sabbatical leave for Paul Swanson for the 2002-03 school year per a memorandum of agreement. Pitts seconded. Motion carried.

Consideration & Action on Teacher Hirings
Smith moved to hire Tina Benish-Holmes as the 7th Grade Language Arts Teacher. Pitts seconded. Motion carried.

Smith moved to hire Jessica Engelke as a High School Spanish Teacher. Caraway seconded. Motion carried.

Smith moved to hire Jason Hollenberger as a High School Social Studies Teacher pending his contract release from Oak Creek School District. Limmex seconded. Motion carried.

Consideration & Action on Budget/Maintenance/Transportation Committee Recommendations
Nelson was elected chairperson.

Based on the committee’s recommendation, Smith moved to purchase 55 computers from Gov Connection for $35,144.45. Caraway seconded. Motion carried.

Based on the committee’s recommendation, Smith moved to reimburse Jeff Mahoney and Jamie Benson for $20 per month for using their personal cell phones for school business. Limmex seconded. Motion carried.

Limmex moved to pay Gordon Flesch $33,419.51 for the 2002-03 service agreement for 10 copiers. Smith seconded. Polled vote was 7-0 in the affirmative with 2 absent. Motion carried.

Pronold moved to contract with Southwest Technical College for driver’s education for 2002-03 at a cost of $32,775. Caraway seconded. Motion carried.

Smith moved to purchase an E152 Ford Cargo Van from Middleton Ford at the cost of $15,636. Limmex seconded. Motion carried.

Mahoney also noted that beginning this year, we will be discontinuing our contract with our outside food service vendor (TAHER) and will be re-establishing our in-house management of the program. Cindy Eby will remain as the Food Service Supervisor.

Consideration & Action to Adjourn to Closed Session Pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes 19.85 and 111.70 to discuss 2001-2003 RVEA Collective Bargaining Update and 19.85(1)(c) to discuss Administrator Contracts
Limmex moved to adjourn to closed session at 8:05 p.m. pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes 19.85 and 111.70 to discuss 2001-2003 RVEA Collective Bargaining Update and 19.85(1)(c) to discuss Administrator Contracts. Smith seconded. Polled vote was 7-0 in the affirmative with 2 absent. Motion carried.
