President Anderson opened the meeting. He noted that the meeting had been properly noticed and provided to the appropriate media and each School Board Member. Peach moved to proceed with the legal meeting. Pitts seconded. Motion carried.

Caraway was appointed Acting Clerk in Nelson’s absence.

Consideration & Action to Adjourn to Closed Session Pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes 19.85 and 111.70 to discuss Article 28, Early Retirement Policy For Teachers, and the sidebar language pertaining to early retirement in the 1999-01 negotiated agreement and 2001-2003 RVEA Collective Bargaining; and 19.85(1)(c) to discuss administrator contracts
Limmex moved to adjourn to closed session at 8:05 p.m. pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes 19.85 and 111.70 to discuss Article 28, Early Retirement Policy For Teachers, and the sidebar language pertaining to early retirement in the 1999-01 negotiated agreement and 2001-2003 RVEA Collective Bargaining; and 19.85(1)(c) to discuss administrator contracts. Pronold seconded. Polled vote was 7-0 in the affirmative with 2 absent. Motion carried.

The Board reconvened in open session at 9:15 p.m.

Consideration & Action on Teacher Retirements
Limmex moved to accept and adopt the resignation proposal for early retirement from Charlie Birch. Pitts seconded. Polled vote was 7-0 in the affirmative with 2 absent. Motion carried.

Pronold moved to accept and adopt the resignation proposal for early retirement from Jack Taylor. Roske seconded. Polled vote was 7-0 in the affirmative with 2 absent. Motion carried.

Peach moved to accept and adopt the resignation proposal for early retirement from Tim Kinney. Roske seconded. Polled vote was 7-0 in the affirmative with 2 absent. Motion carried.

Pronold moved to accept and adopt the resignation proposal for early retirement from Kathy Emshoff. Pitts seconded. Polled vote was 7-0 in the affirmative with 2 absent. Motion carried.

Pitts moved to accept and adopt the resignation proposal for early retirement from Denny Coppernoll. Peach seconded. Polled vote was 7-0 in the affirmative with 2 absent. Motion carried.

Anderson moved to accept and adopt the resignation proposal for early retirement from Bob Churchill. Limmex seconded. Polled vote was 7-0 in the affirmative with 2 absent. Motion carried.

Pronold moved to accept the retirement of Barb Pauls. Peach seconded. Polled vote was 7-0 in the affirmative with 2 absent. Motion carried.

The Board and Benson thanked all retirees for their service to the district.

Consideration & Action on Teacher Transfers
Peach moved to accept the transfers of the following teachers: Tracy Frosch from 8th Grade LD Teacher to 6th Grade LD Teacher (replacing Kathy Emshoff); Ken Mertens from 8th Grade Math Teacher to 7th Grade Math Teacher (replacing Denny Coppernoll); Tony Cavagnetto from High School Band Teacher to Middle School Band Teacher (replacing Bob Churchill); Tony Sweere from Athletic Director and Part Time High School Phy. Ed. Teacher to Full Time Phy. Ed. Teacher (replacing Charlie Birch); and Joanne Finn from 5th Grade Teacher at Spring Green Elementary to 6th Grade Math Teacher (replacing Barb Pauls). Pitts seconded. Motion carried.

Consideration & Action on Resolution Accepting Teacher Resignation
Roske moved to adopt the Resolution Accepting Teacher Resignation for Barb Ouimet. Pitts seconded. Polled vote was 7-0 in the affirmative with 2 absent. Motion carried.

Consideration & Action on Teacher Hirings
Limmex moved to hire Rhonda Licht as the Title One Teacher at Spring Green Elementary. Pronold seconded. Motion carried.

Peach moved to hire Sharon Banker as a Fifth Grade Teacher at Spring Green Elementary. Pitts seconded. Motion carried.

Limmex moved to hire Matt Olinski as the 7th Grade History Teacher. Roske seconded. Motion carried.

Pitts moved to hire Heather Fish as the 8th Grade History Teacher. Limmex seconded. Motion carried.

Limmex moved to hire Jane Briehl as the 8th Grade Math Teacher. Pitts seconded. Motion carried.

Peach moved to hire Matt Snow as the High School Band Teacher. Pronold seconded. Motion carried.

Pitts moved to hire Brenda Degenhardt as a High School Science Teacher. Roske seconded. Motion carried.

Consideration & Action on Administrator Contracts
Anderson moved to accept Kaaren Larson’s resignation with the understanding that the resignation will be effective January 24, 2002; to approve a leave of absence for Ms. Larson starting July 1, 2001, and continuing through January 23, 2002; and to approve the terms of the agreement providing leave and retirement benefits for Ms. Larson. Limmex seconded. Polled vote was 7-0 in the affirmative with 2 absent. Motion carried.

The Board and Benson thanked Larson for her years of service to the district.

Caraway moved to extend administrator contracts for one year and to approve salaries for 2001-02 as follows:

Wermuth, $55,860; Richardson, $55,860; Golden, $55,860; Hoffman, $66,274; Palm-Leis, $56,858; Mahoney, $70,277; and Benson, $88,750. Pitts seconded. It was noted that health insurance rates could affect these salary amounts. Motion carried.

Limmex moved to adjourn at 9:42 p.m. Roske seconded. Motion carried.
