Process:
1. You will be assigned to a group. You and your partners will randomly select a country. Once your group has its country, you will decide who will do each of the different tasks listed below.

2. Now, each of you should find an area in the classroom where you will work together.
3. Each of you should have note cards where you will be recording your research information. You will be graded every other day on the information you record on your note cards. As a group, you will each have separate duties and therefore will be doing your own research. The information that you record on your note cards should be:
accurate, detailed and relevant to the task you have been assigned
paraphrased and well-written, either in sentences or phrases
few spelling and grammatical errors
your teacher must be able to read your handwriting--if I can not, you will need to type your notes
separated by the different sources you have used

4. You will find Internet sites on our computer lab as well as resources in the school library that you will use for your project. You should take detailed notes on the information you research becasue it will become a part of your Power Point project.
5. If you find photographs, pictures, maps, or other information that you would like to use in your project, you will need to check the copyright for those images to see if you could use them in your PowerPoint project. You may have to contact the webmaster to gain permission to use the images in your project. You will need to site the sources for those photographs, pictures, or maps.
4. After you have conducted all of your research separately, you are now ready to begin to compile your information into an organized PowerPoint project. As a group, you need to decide how to arrange all of the information you gathered on slides. You will want to discuss and show the most important information found from your research. On paper in a storyboard, you will want to show the order of your information.
5. Now, you and your partners will still want to work together on separate computers. Each of you should log in as yourselves.
You should go to PowerPoint.
Decide on an appopriate background for your presentation (one background for the entire project)
Decide on fonts (1 for heading and 1 for body text), font colors (may choose 1 for heading and 1 for body text), and font size (must be easy to read--heading should be larger than body text)
Decide on transitions (1 transition for entire presentation)
Decide on builds (1 build for entire presentation)
You now should each input your information on to your own slides. You should each save your part of the project as follows on your Q drive as:
|
You will save on a floppy disk when you are completely finished with your own parts of the project. Then, you will combine all of the parts of the project into one PowerPoint presentation. You will insert the separate slides onto one slide show. You should talk to each other about consistent fonts, font sizes, and font colors. You will probably want to wait and add transitions, builds, and animation after the project has been compiled into one.
6. At this time, you will want to proofread and spell check your project carefully. You will want to also compile your Works Cited page on your PowerPoint project. Remember to include all the sources you used in your presentation!
7. You are now ready to present your finding to your classmates. Each group will present for 15-20 minutes on your research. Remember that each person will need to present their part of the project to the entire class. You will work as a team when presenting the information.
8. It's time for your presentation! You've been working hard to get your information compiled and now it is time to show what you have learned from your tour. Remember to speak loud and clear so all the class can hear. We're all looking forward to what you found on your tour!
