My name is Christina Schoenwetter. I live in Middleton, Wisconsin. I grew up in Columbus, Wisconsin with my parents and my younger sister, Lindsay.
I graduated from Columbus High School in 1998 and attended Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin. While attending college, I kept myself very active. I played collegiate basketball for two years and softball for four years. I also was chair of my senior class and participated in three diversity organizations. I was also a member of the Challenge Leadership Program where I developed leadership skills and learned about leadership theory.
I graduated from Carroll College in 2002. From there I taught 8th Grade Language Arts at Oconomowoc Middle School in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. While teaching at OMS, I also coached 7th Grade Boys' Basketball and 7th Grade Girls' Track and Field.
During the 2003-2004 school year, I taught 7th Grade English and Writing at Royall Middle School in Elroy, Wisconsin. During the winter, I coached Freshmen Girls' Basketball for the Panthers.
I have been teaching at River Valley Middle School since 2004. I also coach JV FastPitch at the high school and am the English Department Chair.
Currently I am working toward being a Master Educator through the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. I will complete my program in May 2008. Recently, I obtained my alternative education teaching license through Concordia University.
In my free time, I enjoy taking photographs, writing my own poetry, crocheting, reading, cleaning, biking and hiking. I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family and volunteering at my church where I serve on one Board and two committees. I even help out with the youth group. All of this keeps me super busy!!
I didn't know I wanted to be a teacher until I attended college. Everyone told me they could see me being a teacher, so I thought I'd give it a try. Here I am, thrilled to be a teacher!!
