Biography Wheaties 

 

TASK:  You will create a Wheaties Box design about a Famous Person of your choice and write a Biographical Paragraph about your Famous Person.

            The word “WHEATIES” needs to be on your box

Picture of your Person on box

            Catch Phrase about your Person

            Be CREATIVE with this design

            Be inventive.  No other direction will be given with the Box Requirements.

 

PARAGRAPH REQUIREMENTS: 

            NO Plagiarism!!!!! If you plagiarize you will be given zero credit!!  No exceptions!

            You will be graded on Organization and Sentence Fluency

            Paragraph should be 15-17 sentences

            Must have a Lead (Opener) Sentence and must have an Ending (Conclusion) Sentence

            Must include WHY you selected this Famous Person

            In your paragraph, you need to answer at least 3 of the following questions:

1.      In what ways was the life remarkable?

2.      In what ways was the life admirable?

3.      What human qualities were most influential in shaping the way the person lived and influenced his or her time?

4.      Which quality or trait proved to be the most troubling or difficult?

5.      Which quality or trait was most beneficial to this person?

6.      Did this person make any mistakes or bad decisions?  If so, what where they and how would you have chosen and acted differently if you were in their shoes?

7.      What are two or three most important lessons you or any young person might learn from the way this person lived?

8.      Many people act out of a “code” or a set of beliefs which dictate personal choices.  It may be religion or politics or a personal philosophy.  To what extent did your person act by a code or act independently of any set of beliefs?  Were there times when the code was challenged or impossible to follow? 

9.      What do you think it means to be a hero?  Was your person a hero?  Why or why not?  How is your hero different from being a celebrity?
