How can parents help? Parents are a child's first and most important teacher. They are the
most influential in helping to form a child's educational attitude, work habits and
interest in school. Parents can help by attending parent/teacher conferences,
participating in school events and helping their children with homework and projects at
home. The most valuable gift parents can gieve their children, is their time.
Reading with and to them is a vital part of helping them learn to read and enjoying
