School Board member resignations should be made in writing to the Board Clerk or to the President if the Clerk is resigning. A resignation will become effective upon the date specified in the letter of resignation or, if no date is specified, upon delivery of the letter of resignation to the Board Clerk or the President if the Clerk is resigning. The Board Clerk or President if the Clerk is resigning shall be responsible for notifying the Board of the resignation.
When a Board member ceases to be a resident of the district, or remains absent from the district for a period exceeding 60 days, his/her Board member seat shall be considered vacant. The Board shall fill the vacancy in accordance with established procedures.
