The Board shall represent and act for the State in providing the district with the kind of educational programs and facilities required or permitted by law. In carrying out this function, the Board shall perform the following three general duties:
1. Formulate and interpret educational policies;
2. Delegate administrative duties; and
3. Make a continuous appraisal of the school system.
Specifically, the Board shall perform the duties imposed upon the Board by the statutes including, but not limited to: levying taxes sufficient to support the schools; overseeing the repair and use of buildings; making rules necessary for the effective management of the district; providing educational and auxiliary services; and properly managing school district funds.
