It is the philosophy of the River Valley School District’s LMCs to provide students and staff with the materials to meet their information needs, within the limits of staff and budget.
Due to the high cost in staff time and financial resources for interlibrary loan services, interlibrary resource sharing is limited to collections within the River Valley School District, the greater River Valley area through the Spring Green Public Library (South Central Library System), and the CESA 3 district where delivery service is provided. District students and staff are encouraged to search the Elementary and Middle School/High School library resources first before seeking the services of the area public libraries for those materials not available within the district.
Citizens within the District may request materials through the Spring Green Public Library or directly from the school libraries but the borrowers will be responsible for replacement if an item is lost or damaged. District library media specialists have the right to deny the loaning of materials outside the school environment based on the item’s curricular need and the availability of a replacement if the item is lost or damaged.
