Series 400 - Students

Policy #443.3 - Drug and Alcohol Prohibitions

The River Valley School District prohibits the possession, use and distribution or delivery of alcohol and controlled substances on school property or at any school sponsored event.  Therefore, any student who is found to have used alcohol or a controlled substance or to be under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, found to have controlled substances or alcohol in his or her possession, or found to have delivered or distributed alcohol or a controlled substance at school or at a school sponsored event shall be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with established procedures and state or federal law.

 

In addition, any student found to be in possession, using or delivering drug paraphernalia on school property or at a school sponsored event shall be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with established procedures and state or federal law.

 

These prohibitions shall not apply to a student who is taking medication prescribed by a properly licensed health care provider in the manner and at the times prescribed.
