Series 400 - Students

Policy #454.2 - Snowmobile Use By Students

1)         All students operating snowmobiles must meet the State of Wisconsin guidelines for operation and registration.

 

2)                  Parents must sign a release and give permission for their student to ride their snowmobile to school.

 

3)                  All snowmobiles must be registered in the high school office and have current registrations.

 

4)                  Snowmobiles can only be operated coming to and going from school.  Riders must stay on designated trail and may only be on school property to come and go.

 

5)                  A designated parking area will be provided. (River Valley School District is not liable for any damage that may occur to a snowmobile on school grounds.)

 

6)                  Students are not allowed in the designated parking area during school hours.

 

7)                  Only the registered operator may operate their snowmobile on school grounds. Other students may not operate any snowmobile that they do not own.

 

8)                  The speed limit for snowmobiles on school property is ten (10) miles per hour.

 

9)                  A student’s privilege of operating a snowmobile on school property may be suspended or revoked in the event that the operator violates any rule regulating the operation of snowmobiles on school property.  Violations may also be reported to appropriate law enforcement authorities.

 

10)              All other rules and/or policies that apply to automobiles will also apply to snowmobile use by students.
