Policy #537.3 - Resolution of Board of Education - Designation as a “Hybrid Entity

River Valley School District (“District”) hereby confirms that it considers itself to be a “hybrid entity” for purposes of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”) Privacy Rules (45 C.F.R. Parts 160 and 164).  That is, the District is a sponsor of several group health plans, but is not primarily engaged in the business of providing health care.  Accordingly, the following are the District’s “health care components” which are subject to the Rules:
