The River Valley School District shall provide hot lunches through participation in the National School Lunch Program. The district administrator, or his/her designee, shall enter into an agreement with the Department of Public Instruction and the federal government for participation in such child nutrition program.
As required for participation in the National School Lunch Program, the school district agrees to the following:
That a school lunch meeting federal regulations be made available for all students.
That free and reduced price lunches be offered to eligible students who apply and who meet the federal income guidelines.
The supervisor of food services shall be responsible for the management of the school lunch program, including the purchase of food and supplies, under the direction of the Business Manager.
Food service prices shall be established annually by the Board. Private school students may participate in the public school hot lunch program in accordance with the established agreement.
The River Valley School District shall not discriminate in school-sponsored food service programs on the basis of sex, race, national origin, ancestry, creed, pregnancy, marital or parental status, sexual orientation or physical, mental, emotional or learning disability. Discrimination complaints shall be processed in accordance with established procedures.
