PEP Meeting

September 10, 2007

7:00 P.M.

Present:  Renee Feiner, Tami Alt, Lori Pulvermacher, Laura Heintz, Tina Scallon, Jackie Jewell, Michelle Johanning, Michele Cady

Yearly fundraising ideas:

• Sept./Oct – candle sale.  Over $1,600 in profit last year
• Fall Fest – pay for prizes and have parent participation
• Yearbook – how to do it by February and not run into last two days.  Parent group pays for the yearbooks for all. 
• Nov./Dec – raffle every other year.  Bake sale at Christmas program
• February – family fun night
• March – popcorn fundraiser
• April – scholarships for high school seniors
• May – brat stand at Cenex & village wide garage sale

New Ideas:

• Fall bazaar in November – raise money by charging fees and concessions
• Rada knife sale
• Clothing sale with RV logo or Plain elem logo or duffle bags or “sack packs” (could start this sale in the immediate future.)

Fall Bazaar – Mary Kay, Tastefully Simple, etc…  Charge $25 - $50 for having a booth in the bazaar…anyone who wants to have a booth for crafts, etc. is welcome…November 3^rd is the date we are looking at.  Run an ad in the paper and have people call Jackie Jewell or Michelle Johanning.  Also use church bulletins to recruit vendors.

Cookbook sale next year…will start collecting recipes sometime this year.

Boxtops, milkcaps, ink cartridges…ink cartridges need sorting.  Please put a note in the October parent newsletter to remind people that we will collect them here.  Boxtops timeline … Michelle Johanning will get that date from Constance and will let us know so we can run a contest. 

PEP would like to increase the $ for each teacher to $150 for this year only.  Extra money left from last year is available.  May not be the case every year… this year is great. 

Let them know what we need to purchase for Fall Fest. 

They will pick up the cost of the Figureheads performance at SGE later this school year.  Cost will be split between schools and PEP will also pay for bussing.
