SOCCER FITNESS UNIT

K-1st: Grades Basic movement activities to screen movement patterns (stepping, leaping, galloping, running etc.... )  These elementary movement patterns are important in the development of student abilities to play in space and became more aware of safe movement.
K/1 The students have been involved in games of chase to have fun, learn new games and have their movement patterns monitored further.  Also active learning elementary catching, throwing and kicking skills. First graders have also completed the following physical fitness activities:

50 yard dash 
Fitness distance run and the shuttle run. 

2nd-5th Grades These grades have completed the 50 yard dash, shuttle run and fitness distance run with several school records being set. 

We have also begun a Soccer Skills Unit which includes soccer ball skills and elementary rules and terminology involved in the game of soccer.

Third, fourth and fifth grades are excited to be involved in a soccer skills clinic on Wednesday October 9th.  Senior High soccer athletes will be here to conduct station activities involving elementary students to develop stripping, trapping , dribbling and goal keeping skills.
