Discipline

The discipline model we use here at the Middle School is "Time to Teach."  This model is used by the elementary schools so most of the students know what to expect when they get to us.  This program is where a student receives a "refocus" sheet to fill out when he/she has done something that has not allowed the teacher to continue to teach.  There are questions that will ask the student what he was doing and why.  All questions must be answered and then the student would hand this to the teacher.  Because all the elementary schools in the River Valley School District use this model, most students in sixth grade know what receiving a refocus means and they try hard not to do anything to warrant receiving one.  If the student would receive two of these in a class period, the student would be sent to the office to talk to Ms. Quale or Mr. Radtke.
