Grading for math is broken into 4 categories:
Tests & quizzes at 35%
Class work & group projects at 30 %
Assignments at 25%
Responsibility at 10%
Class work includes material completed during class with students having access to notes and use of book, and cooperation of partner or small group work in completing various projects.
Responsibility includes students readiness for class, coming to class prepared with completed assignment, all required material (book, binder, pencil, red pen and paper) plus a willingness to participate and learn.
All students have the opportunity to earn extra credit by making corrections on all returned papers. Most papers are returned at the end of the week with all corrections due the following Monday. This is an excellent way for students to review concepts as well as improve their math scores.
Any assignment not turned in at class time is considered a late assignment. Students will automatically lose 10% on any late assignment. A 0 will be entered in skyward until late work is completed and turn in.
