STUDENT COUNCIL INFORMATION
Student council is compiled of students from all three grade levels;
6 - 8th grade members,
5 - 7th grade members,
& 4 - 6th grade members.
Student council elections are held the end of May for 7th & 8th graders to participate in for the coming school year. 6th grade elections are held in October. Students can run either by teacher choice or student ballot.
Student council members are responsible for organizing a variety of happenings at the Middle School. Members set up social events for students which include; assemblies, birthday wall, dances, and holiday events just to name a few. Along with the social events student council members organize various fundraisers throughout the school year. A few of them include; box tops for education, food drive to accompany Kops for Kids, penny drive for luekemia and scholastic book fair.
UPCOMING EVENTS
SCHOOL DANCE
Dances are held after school in the gym. Dances run from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Students are expected to stay for the entire time of the dance. If a student needs to leave a dance early please contact the school office to make the chaperones aware of it. Please check monthly school newsletter for dates of dances.
Admission - $3.00
Concessions are available for a small fee.

SHAPE UP WISCONSIN
All students at the middle school will participate in the state wide Shape Up Wisconsin program on Wednesday, May 5th. Students will be engaged in physical activities for 1/2 hour to be able to enter in the state wide contest. After activities are over student council will treat the student body to a healthy snack and bottle of water.
ANNUAL EVENTS
FOOD DRIVE
The annual food drive will be held Monday, November 16th through Wednesday, December 2nd. Student brought in over 1200 lbs of canned food items, boxed goods (cereals, pastas, rice, etc.) paper products (toilet paper, paper towel, etc.) laundry products and personnel hygiene items (toothpaste, soap and shampoo). All donated items were given to the Kops for Kids program in the River Valley area.
BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
Box tops are collected throughout the entire year, however there was a special contest held during the month of February. Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Johnson's climb it groups tied with collecting the most box tops. Each climb was treated to a party sub from Subway. Thanks to all those who collected and clipped box tops we will receive a check for $650.00 from Box tops for Education. Please continue to clip and save box tops which can be found on most General Mills products.
BOOK FAIR
Student council members hold a book fair each year. This years fair was held in February during the Spring Parent/Teacher conferences. Thanks to all those who supported the book fair, the school library was able to choose $400.00 worth of new books plus all spelling bee participants were given coupons to use at the fair. We will be scheduling another fair for 2010 - 2011 school year.
