"2010 River Valleyball Team
"The 2010 Volleyball Season got off to a quick start, with the team going 8-0 to capture the 2010 Wisconsin SPRAWL Tournament at UW-Stout. This opening tournament catapulted the team on to many great feats throughout the course of the season. The team finished 7-3 in the SWC Conf., to place 2nd. Other season highlights included finishing 2nd to a 2009/2010 state qualifier in Tomahawk High School at the Deforest Invite. The team also finished 3rd at both the Waverly Shell-Rock Trn., an extremely tough tourn. in Iowa, as well as the Edgewood Trn. The varsity team boasts national and state academic awards for the 9th season in a row, as well as repeating Taylor Gruber as the S.W.C. All-Conf. Player of the Year for the 2010 season campaign. The Blackhawks also landed Vanessa Clarson as the SWC First Team Libero, while Hannah Buringa and Kelsi Yager took 2nd team honors. Mackenzie Price made the SWC Hon. Mention list.
"The team finished their campaign just short of their goal for the state tournament, by losing in the Regional final to Sauk Prairie. Sauk Prairie was the favored team in the regional final, and narrowly escaped a Regional Title win from the young Blackhawks. The final season record was 27-13, and the team was ranked by the Wis. VB Coaches Assoc. Poll Top 10 or Hon. Mention all season. Congrats to the team on a fine season!"
