Grading for math is broken into 4 categories: Tests & quizzes at 35%, class work at 30%, assignments at 25% and responsibility at 10%. Class work includes material completed during class time, cooperation in small group and partner work. Responsibility includes coming to class prepared with completed assignment, all needed material(text book, red pen, pencil & paper) and a willingness to learn.
Students that are interested in earning extra credit points have the opportunity by making corrections on errors they have on worksheets, quizzes and test. Usually papers are given out on Friday and the students need to return corrections on the following Monday. Corrections may not be written in during class as the assignment is being corrected. When checking with your child about their grade please ask if they have taken the opportunity to make corrections and earn extra credit.
