Who is Mrs. Ring?
Greetings! My name is Jennifer Ring! I teach sixth grade Language Arts here at
the River Valley Middle School! If you're interested, read on to find out a little
more about me!
I am very excited to be working in the River Valley School District because I was born and
raised in the area. In fact, I graduated from Richland Center High School in
Richland Center (but don't hold that against me!). Even though I am from Richland Center,
I still promise to support River Valley and cheer on the Blackhawks!
After I graduated from high school, I moved to Madison to attend college. While
living there, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.S. in
Secondary English Education. My experiences at Madison were very rewarding since I
was involved in many clubs and organizations on campus. One of the organizations was the
University of Wisconsin Marching Band, and I was a clarinet in the band for three years.
Currently, my husband (Travis) and I live in Barneveld with our "children." By "children" I mean our three cats (Muffin, Snickers, and Jynx). The location works out well for us since Travis works in the Madison area, and Barneveld is just about equal driving distance for both of us.
During my free time, I enjoy participating in many different types of activities.
One of my favorite things to do is read. In my opinion, there is nothing better than
curling up on the sofa and reading a good book. In addition to reading in my
spare time, I also enjoy traveling, being active, playing video games, and spending time with family and
friends.
Why am I a teacher? Well, I have wanted to be a teacher ever since I was
in elementary school. I remember "playing school" quite often with friends and family. I
also have had many phenomenal teachers when I was growing up who definitely have had a
positive influence on me, and so I aspire to be that inspirational teacher in the lives of
my students.
