Safety, Security and Preparation
In an ongoing effort to make sure staff and students are prepared for emergencies that we hope never happen, during second semester we will be reviewing procedures on dealing with these situations, if they were to arise. Throughout the year we will continue to practice our fire drill on a monthly basis, along with this we will also continue to do our annual tornado drill in early spring. Starting this year we will also be doing a Code Red Drill – Code Red is a procedure that we use if there is a high risk of danger to the staff and students of our building. During this procedure the building will be in a lock down and students, staff, visitors will not be allowed to leave the building. This also means that no one will be allowed to enter the building unless they have official clearance. It is very important for everyone to understand that communication in and out of the building will be limited to an official capacity. Staff and students should not be using land phone, email or cell phones for communication in or out of the building, because this could seriously hamper the situation. As stated earlier we hope this is a procedure we never need to use, but we also feel it is important to prepare staff and students in case the emergency would ever arise. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Mr. Kaukl at 588-2554.
