PTO Activities

PTO Home page

At the beginning of each school year, the PTO gives each classroom teacher a dollar amount ( it varies from year to year depending on fundraising) to supplement their classroom budget.  We also sponsor the following events.

• Halloween Dance: Join us for a fun filled afternoon.  Dress-up in your costume, play games, and dance to the DJ.  Try your luck at the guessing contests.

• Cabin Fever Craft Day:  Enjoy a morning of learning a new craft.   Last year's event included : cake decorating, sewing, painting-by-number, cross-stitch, card making, and print making.

• Family Fun Night:  Jump in the air house, play bingo and other games,  enjoy some storytelling, and eat pizza! March 10, 2006

• Whole School Fieldtrip:  On June 2, 2005, the PTO sponsored a trip to the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium in Dubuque, Iowa.  We also at lunch at Eagle Point Park.  We are open to ideas for this year's field trip.

• Yearbooks:  The PTO purchases a yearbook for every student in the Lone Rock Elementary.  This past year, the cost was about $6.00 per book.

• End of the Year Activities:  In the past on the last day of school, the PTO has purchased popcicles for each student.We also run a ring-toss game with bottled water as the prize. 

• Fifth Grade Graduation:    On the last day of school during our all school assembly, the PTO hands out roses and certificates to the graduating fifth graders.

The PTO also accepts requests during the school year from teachers for sponsoring speakers and other activities for the students of the Lone Rock Elementary.
