Class:  Students play game "What's my rule", page 30 follow with think and discuss page 30. Students work with a partner to complete set B page 31 share results. Start on Set C, discuss how to identify rules.

Assignment:  IN/out boxes sheet 8

Class:  Go over set C page 32, identify how a sequence of numbers will change, point out that there may be more than one operation, multiplication is needed instead of addition. (multiplication is repeated addition)  Partners work on set D page 35, use master sheet 4 to track information.

Assignment:  Finish set D plus page 36 #1-4.

Class:  Go over set D, follow with pages 36-37 #5, 6, & 7. Students work on sheet 1.3

Class:  Page 410 explore, work out as a class. Partners complete Set A page 411, share results then go over different ways of writing the same rule. Page 413, set B

Class:  Read page 486, go over definitions relating to circles. Work as a group to answer think and discuss. Follow with sheet 542 defining terms, this sheet should be kepts as notes. Start on assignment sheet 11/78 to make certain students understand vocabulary.

Assignment:  Circle worksheet.

Class:  Students work in small groups to complete set D page 487. Students measure circumference and diameter on objects and chart data. Using the collected data and the formula C/D students should come up with a quotient that is close to PI (3.14)

Class:  Read stor "Sir Cumference and the Dragon of PI". Practice formula with sheet 12.

Assignment:  Skill Sheet 46.

Class:  Students demonstrate ability to find diameter, radius and circumference along with perimeter of given polygons.

Assignment:  Mixed review sheet.

Class:  Students complete activity and make corrections.
