Jazz Band 2007-2008

Guidelines

  1. Jazz Band is open to all instrumental students:
  2. Co-Curricular Cost - $15.00
    3.
  3. Instrumentation is flexible but limited saxes, low brass, trumpet, clarinet, flute, piano, drums, bass guitar, electric guitar
  4. Rehearsals are mandatory and will be Monday &/or Thursday. Everyone is allowed 2 (Two) absences only. When you are absent, you are hurting the ensemble because your part is not being played. If you would like to be in Jazz Band, you must MAKE THE COMMITMENT to the group.
  5. Jazz Band will focus on fundamentals of style, improvisation, and music.

Jazz Ensemble I

Guidelines

  1. Jazz Ensemble is an auditioned group consisting of members from the Jazz Band. It is markedly smaller group (20 members total) with emphasis on individual musical lines and advanced jazz literature.
  2. Co-Curricular Cost - $15.00
    3.
  3. Auditions will be held the first week of December.
  4. Rehearsals are mandatory and members may only miss 2 (Two) practices. Because this is a select group, we need our personnel in attendance at all times. If you are the best player, but never at practice, you are not helping the Ensemble.
