Using the two links below, the House of Representatives and the Senate, you will visit our Legislative Branches' sites. You will explore each house and answer the following questions.

A.) Click on the House of Representatives Link.

B.) There is a small link at the top of the page under the search bar Representatives by State.  Click on this link and then scroll down the page to find the following information. 

1.) Which state has only one representative in the House of Representatives?  Pick one

2.) Which state has the most representatives in the House? How Many?

3.) How many representatives does Wisconsin have?

C.) Go back to the House main page. On the left of the screen there is a spot to type in your zip code. Type in your zip code and find your local congressman's name and a link to his home page.

4.)  Who is your local congressman?

5.) Read About Ron. Do you think his experience and qualifications make him a good Congressman? Why?

6.) Click on The Third District. What counties make up the 3rd district of Wisconsin?

7.) Click on Newsroom. What are some issues Ron Kind is working on for our district? What are some committees Ron Kind is on?
 

8.) Click on Ron's Views - to the right there is a column titled Issues.  Click on at least two of these and share Ron Kind's opinion on this matter. 


D.) Now click on the second link, the US Senate. Go to the Find Your Senators link and find Wisconsin.

9.)  Who are the two senator's listed for Wisconsin.

E.)  Go to Herb Kohl's web page. Using his page answer the following questions.

10.) Read Senator Kohls Biography (listed under General Information to the left). What are some of the important issues he works on for our state?

11.) Under Legislative Activities - Committee Assignments please find what committees Senator Kohl is a member of?  What are they?

12.) Which committee do you think is the most important? Why?
 

13.)  Under Education and Resource Center / Elementary and Middle School - What are two of the educational links for kids Herb Kohl has on his webpage?  Why does he say this is important?

14.) Click on Priorities.  Choose one of Senator Kohl's priorities and click on it.  Now read about this priority.  Off to the side in a box on the right there are a list of items that address this issue.  Click on two or more of these priorities in the purple box and then explain how Senator Kohl has addressed this issue. 

F.) Go back to Senate home page and find Senator Russ Feingold's web page.

15.) Click on In The News and Biography. Do you think his experience and qualifications make him a good senator? Why, why not? Explain your answer.
 

16.) Under Biography to the left what committees are listed that Russ Feingold works on? Which do you think is most important? Why, why not?

17.) Click on On The Issues on Russ Feingold's home page. Describe those most important issues that Russ Feingold is addressing. Is he achieving his goals? Why, why not?
