Independent Manufacturing Class       

  0.5 credits            1 semester            18 weeks

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This class is intended for students entering machine tool as a career or wishing to learn more about Computer Numeric Control (CNC).

 

 

 

The class will learn about CNC, Manual & Digital Accuturn Lathe, and PlasmaCAM. Other topics discussed include lathe projects relating to foundry or sheet metal. Students will be doing hands-on activities in the lab.  Students will design and build advanced projects.

 

 

 

Computer Numerical Control (CNC) will be used in this class with it's programming skill being used.

 



Computer programs will be utilized so students can learn to identify unique problem solving skills, and then put them in an environment where those skills can be utilized.

 

 

Students will learn the following basic principles and skills:
