Project      "  Lead The Way  "

Kern Foundation

The River Valley School District was awarded a grant through Project " Lead The Way ".  The Kern Foundation awarded a grant to River Valley in 2006.

The grant money was used to purchase 18 new computers and Autodesk Inventor 11 software.  Inventor 11 is the latest software for designing , drawing , and assembling 3D objects.  Grant money was also used for a summer course.  All of these things will be implemented at River Valley High School in the 2007 - 2008 school year.

Mr. Roger Kraemer went to University of Milwaukee School of Engineering to learn skills for a new class called  Introduction to Engineering Design.  The class was from June 18 to June 30, 2006.  Mr. Kraemer completed the class and was given certification for teaching a new course called Introduction to Engineering Design. 

Ms. Carla Carmody from the Technology and Engineering Department and Brenda Degenhardt from the Science Department will attend a summer class at University of Milwaukee School of Engineering during summer 2007 for the Principles of Engineering class.

In 2007 - 2008 two new classes will be offered at River Valley High School.

Advanced college placement will be issued in math, engineering, technology and science for these classes.
