 "TIME TO TEACH" DISCIPLINE PROGRAM

River Valley School District uses the "Time To Teach" program of discipline management at Arena, Lone Rock, and Spring Green elementary schools, at the middle school, and on the buses. This discipline program helps create a positive school climate by teaching students desired behaviors, rewarding those who follow those behaviors, and holding those who misbehave accountable for their actions. Students have a chance to focus on what they were doing and what they plan to do in the future.

Your child may use the term "refocus". If your child has a refocus, it simply means there was an incident where they chose not to follow expected behaviors. After three refocuses, students are required to participate in an "academy" in which they practice desired behaviors.

During the 1999-2000 school year, this discipline program was piloted at three of our schools. Due to the successful change toward more positive school climates, we are continuing the program for the coming school year. Please contact Mr. James Radtke at 583-2091 if you have questions.

MONTHLY BOOK ORDERS

When purchasing books through the monthly book clubs, make checks payable directly to the specific book club, NOT to the school  If your child is ordering from two or more book clubs, you will need a separate check for each.  If two or more children in your family bring home book orders, please send a different check for each student.  This will assist us with accurate book-keeping.
